How it all began
There is something that no algorithm, no advertisement, and no copy can ever replicate: the story behind Thefreeway.
Thefreeway is not created in an office, not from a business plan, and not from a marketing idea. It is born from a mother who sews. From hands that have worked for decades. From a craft that almost no one masters anymore today.
The story begins in 1989 – at a time when quality was not a strategy, but a matter of course. In a small workshop where every stitch, every seam, and every garment is made with the same care as if it were intended for a loved one.
A story between generations
One day, a son decides that this story must not be lost. He decides to carry it beyond the borders of Italy to Berlin, transforming a family heritage into a modern brand — without betraying what makes it unique.
Not fast. Not artificial. But real.
It is not easy. It is not fast. It is not "scalable". But it is real. And authenticity has a value that no copy in the world can buy.
What happened in November 2023
On November 2 and 3, 2023, Tuscany was hit by a severe flood. The Florentine, Prato, and Pistoia plains were also hit hard. This disaster left severe damage to families, businesses, and the entire area.
This event was also a harsh turning point for Thefreeway. We lost not only structures and materials, but a part of what had been built over decades.
Starting over – after a real loss
In 2026, we are rebuilding much of it once again. Not because we lack vision or will, but because we had to return step by step after a real disaster.
What saved us
If Thefreeway still exists today, it is also thanks to the solidarity of long-time friends, customers, and people who believed in true craftsmanship and our story.
Thefreeway is still here – precisely for this reason
Thefreeway is not just sportswear. It is a bridge between generations. It is a son trying to protect his mother's work. It is a piece of Italy that has found its way to Europe.
Whoever wears a Thefreeway piece today also wears years of experience, dedication, craftsmanship, and love. That is the part no one sees. But it is exactly the part that matters most.

Perhaps not everything is "perfect" with us today, as one might expect from large, purely digital brands. But everything you see here is real. And that is exactly what we continue to work on – with seriousness, dignity, and respect for what Thefreeway truly is since 1989.
